Rhodora is a small shrub that brightens up bogs and wet woods with its gorgeous pink flowers, which emerge slightly earlier than the gray-green leaves in the spring. There is nectar to be found in the flower’s base, attracting early pollinators and other insects. It is a host plant for the Columbia silkmoth (Hyalophora columbia). The flowers are fragrant. Also attracts bees, is deer-resistant and is good habitat for small birds. All parts of plant are poisonous.
