This classic Trifari brooch was designed by Alfred Philippe in 1953 and given patent number 170, 214 on August 18 of that year. It was part of the 'Flirtation' collection. The pin features five 'halo' flowers – each flower has a center marquis stone, surrounded by a halo of smaller marquis, square, and round cut stones. Baguette rhinestones adorn the flowing goldtone ribbons. The setting is both goldtone and silver tone Trifanium – the flowers are set in silver tone and the remainder of the brooch is goldtone. The reverse is signed Trifari, with a crown over the 'T', and Pat. Pend. The brooch measures 2 3/8 inches long and 1 3/4 inches wide. The condition is very good. This brooch was designed by one of the greatest designers of 20th century costume jewelry.
