A popular culinary garnish, Parsley is a good addition to any edible garden. Its leaves are rich with Vitamin A, C, and iron. Parsley prefers direct sunlight but can withstand light shade. Once enough growth has occurred its leaves can be picked any time during the year. The leaves are generally used fresh but maintain their flavor even when dried. Parsley is a host plant for the Black swallowtail Butterfly, as well as a source of food for small pollinators.
