Alaina Bandanza - Native Garden Designer

Alaina has a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Environmental and Sustainability Studies from Agnes Scott College, as well as an M.S. in Conservation Biology from Antioch University. Alaina got her start at Agnes Scott, where she led the certification of the college as a Bee Campus USA™, and wrote the Campus Pollinator Habitat Plan and the Campus Integrated Pest Management Plan. She has also interned with Native Plant Trust, where she learned to propagate and install native plants, and created a pollinator meadow restoration plan for one of their sanctuaries.
At Antioch University, the focus of her thesis was wild bees of New Hampshire peatland ecosystems. While bees hold a special place in her heart, she is devoted to the conservation of all pollinators, beneficial insects, and native wildlife. Alaina is passionate about the creation of gardens that are more than just beautiful, but also provide functional habitat and food sources for the bees, butterflies, birds, and other wildlife with whom we share our homes. To work with Alaina on a consult or design, please email her at alaina@bagleypondperennials.com.
