Blue-Eyed Grass is a clump forming perennial belonging to the Iris family. With it's semi-evergreen grass-like leaves, it makes a beautiful accent along walkways and rock gardens. Clusters of dainty violet-blue star shaped flowers with yellow centers bloom profusely in late spring and early summer. The flowers open in the morning and then close during the afternoon and evening. A bee favorite, this perennial provides needed pollen between the spring and summer bloomers. Blue-Eyed grass spreads via rhizomes and benefits from division every two to three years. It is a versatile plant that does well in clay, loam or sandy soil.
