Black Chokeberry is a rounded leggy shrub that is easy to grow. The flowered clusters that bloom in spring turn to black autumn berries with red fall foliage color. The flowers are rich in nectar and are a great source of sustenance to butterflies, hummingbirds and bees. Songbirds and mammals eat the fruit in the winter. This shrub spreads by root suckers and the suckers should be removed if colonial spread is not desired.
