Scarlet Bee Balm's bright red blooms are a hummingbird's favorite.  It is part of the mint family and will spread prolifically via rhizomes in optimal conditions.  Scarlet Bee Balm is prized for not only its ability to attract hummingbirds and butterflies but for it's culinary and medicinal uses as well.  Greatest impact when used in mass plantings.  It is best planted where there is good air circulation to avoid powdery mildew.
