Early Goldenrod, as its name implies, is the earliest blooming goldenrod. It is a very attractive goldenrod that has a slender delicate appearance. It spreads by rhizomes and can form colonies and therefore is not suitable for a small garden where it could possibly outcompete other plants.
This plant is a top 30 keystone native plant for caterpillars and top 30 host plant that supports pollen specialist bees according to the National Wildlife Federation. Also, since most song birds feed their young almost exclusively on caterpillars, adding this plant in your landscape will support birds. Learn more at Keystone Plants by Ecoregion
