Phonetic: AL-ee-um SAIR-new-um

Nodding Onion is renowned for the unique orientation of its flowers: the umbels face downward, "nodding" towards the ground. Pom-poms of star-like blossoms dangle from each hooked stem, blooming in shades of cream, pale pink, and light lavender. This tendency gives pollinating bees a priority because they are not fazed by gathering nectar and pollen while hanging upside-down. This plant is easy to grow and will gradually spread by seed and bulb offshoots in suitable sites. Plant in mass for a stunning display.
